The Paris Region Innovation Laboratory

Paris Lab is a new agency which is transforming Paris into a territory of experimentation and showcasing in the field of innovation. Its action is articulated around three main axes:

• In situ experimentation on metropolitan territory: Paris Lab will identify grounds for experimenting new equipment, technologies and services. The roadway system, buildings, municipal amenities and the green spaces are all now increasingly zones of innovation benefiting from user feedback who have become de facto beta-testers and co-developers.
• Competitiveness in Urban Innovation: Paris Lab also ensures ongoing Watch regarding the needs of territorial collectivities and it selects and proposes innovating solutions. It thus guarantees the liaison between the community and businesses. Paris Lab’s expertise helps in the public procurement process, and it participates in the creation of calls to tender integrating into the briefs the necessary conditions of ever- changing and interacting specifications, in all branches of urban industry including, of course, everything digital.
• Strategic Watch and promoting Innovation: the Paris-Lab Internet site will make Urban Innovation Watch open to all with international information continually updated by experts’ contributing networks. In addition, truly showcasing the work in innovation of the Metropolis, Paris-Lab will contribute to the valorisation of innovating projects.
